La chanson a été publié pour l'edition des 25 ans de Thriller.Le titre a été écrit et composé par Steve Porcaro et Michael Sherwood du groupe Toto pour les sessions de Dangerous.La chanson est une ballade pop composé d'une piano, de synthétiseurs,d'une guitare,de violon et d'une percussion.La chanson a été réarrangé pour la sortie de Thriller 25th.Le nouveau morceau For All Time, pour lequel Michael a enregistré une démo en mai 1990, était la réponse de Porcaro à Human Nature, huit ans plus tard.David Paich est plus axé sur les mélodies aux claviers alors que Steve Porcaro est plus basé sur les programmations. Tandis que Jeff Porcaro apporte sa frappe unique ainsi que sa technique à la batterie.Alors que Steve Lukather joue de la guitare accoustique. "For All Time" n'a pas été choisi pour Dangerous sans doute pour éviter la comparaison avec "Human Nature", de plus Dangerous étant le premier album sans Quincy, il était important de couper ce lien en vue de ce nouvel album. La chanson a été également proposé à Lionel Richie qui en a fait une version qui est resté inédite. Porcaro explique qu’il conduisait et il a entendu à la radio le titre "Daydream Believer" des Monkees de 1967. Il a retenu la partie synthé et la mélodie l’a inspiré pour en faire une démo avec Michael Sherwood et a enregistré le titre avec la voix de ce dernier.
