"The Lost Children" est le second titre 100% MJ de l'album après "Speechless". "The Lost Children" est une ballade pop joué avec des guitares accoustiques, des claviers et une boîte à rythme qui joue un tempo lent.Michael fait une prière les personnes importantes dans notre vie tels que: pères, mères, frères, sœurs et amis et familles, nous vivons tous heureux avec eux et la vie que nous vivons. Mais quid des enfants abadondonnés dans le monde qui ne possèdent pas ce que nous avons?Les voix des enfants sont dirigé par Tom Bahler.Ce titre contient des extraits de The Twilight Zone. Les deux premeirs refrains sont effectué avec des voix graves alor ques les refrains finaux avec des voix aigues. La démo a été enregistré avec Brad Buxer puis la version "studio" par Bruce Swedien et Stuart Brawley. Dans les voix des enfants, il y a le fils de MJ : Prince Michael. Sur l'outro, on entend des enfants jouer et discuter. Sur une vidéo circulant sur le net, on voit Michael chanté cette chanson alors qu'il joue avec Prince et Paris. Michael utilise un extrait du 21e épisode de la 3e saison de Twilight Zone "Kick The Can" pour la fin de la saison.
