Kenneth Gamble - Leon Huff

Kenneth Gamble est né le 11 aout 1943 à Phidadelphie en Pennsylvanie et Leon Huff est né le 8 avril 1942 à Camden dans le New Jersey. Il sont des auteurs composteurs et producteurs americain qui forme une équipe qui ont écrit plus de 170 disques d'or et de platines et plus de 3000 chansons. Ils ont les pionniers de la soul de Phidadelphie et ont créer leurs maisons de productions the Philadelphia International record label. Le 10 mars 2008 ils entrent dans le The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame et en 2001 au Dance Music Hall of Fame.
Kenneth Gamble a d'abord fait partie du label Gamble-Ross car il a été managé par Jerry Ross depuis que Gamble a 17 ans et avec qui il a acollaboré durant de nombreuses années.
Gamble a fait équipe avec Leon Huff (au claviers) sur l'enregistrement de Candy & The Kisses. Ross fait signé Gamble à Columbia Records en 1963 comme artiste solo, il réalise "You Don't Know What You Got Until You Lose It". Gamble, Ross et Huff collabore sur le hit "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me," enregistre par Dee Dee Warwick et plus tard par Diana Ross & The Supremes et The Temptations.
En 1971,Gamble et Huff formaient Philadelphia International Records alors que leur rival Berry Gordy est à la Motown.
En 1999, ils sont honoré d'un Grammy Trustees Award comme Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, and Walt Disney.
