Cette piste inédite, écrite et composée par Michael Jackson et Brad Buxer, a été enregistrée en 1993 dans le studio The Hit Factory, New York. Jackson a reconnu « Innocent Man » pour la première fois lors de sa déposition au Mexique en novembre 1993, suite aux accusations d'abus sexuels sur mineurs portées contre lui . Le chant du refrain est très doux mais ce n'est pas du falsetto au contraire du sujet de la chanson. En 2010, « Innocent Man » a été enregistré auprès du Bureau américain des droits d'auteur sous le nom « Innocent Man », ce qui suggère une adaptation de la chanson à cette époque. Brad Buxer est cité comme producteur.
