Steve Porcaro , né le 2 septembre 1957 à Los Angeles, est un musicien américain qui joue tout sorte d'instruments à claviers comme le piano ou le synthétiseur. Steve est reconnu comme un grand programmateur.

Il est fils du percussionniste Joe Porcaro, et frère du batteur Jeff Porcaro (décédé en 1992) et du bassiste Mike Porcaro. Il est un membre du groupe Toto depuis 1977, dans lequel il a officié en tant que claviériste et chanteur. Il joue également du piano.

Steve Porcaro a quitté le groupe en 1987 mais a contribué aux enregistrements de nombreux albums du groupe après sa séparation avec celui ci, dont Toto XX et Falling in Between.

Dix ans plus tard, il a participé avec son frère Mike et Joseph Williams à l'enregistrement du single des « Porcaro Brothers » Young at Heart, chanson officielle de la finale de la Ligue des Champions de 1997.

Pour Michael Jackson, Steve va composé "Human Nature", "Chicago 1945"(une des démos de Smooth Criminal) et "For All Time" ainsi que "The Hurt" pour le groupe the Jacksons. Steve Porcaro a été très impliqué dans le projet "History" sur des titres comme "Stranger in Moscow", "You Are Not Alone" ou "Little Susie". D'ailleurs à la sortie il clamera "HIStory c'est grand, très grand".

Michael Jackson surnomma Steve : "Yada".
