Randy Waldman est un pianiste,auteure et producteur américain qui a travaillé avec Patti LaBelle,Madonna,Michael Jackson,Rockwell ou encore Sergio Mendes mais à partir des milieux des années 90 à collaboré prioritairement avec des artistes nippons.
Waldman a commencé à jouer du piano à l'âge de cinq ans, a été embauché pour jouer du piano à un magasin de pianos locale à 12 ans, et a joué avec un groupe de l' Université Northwestern, tout était encore au lycée.
En 1983, Waldman a été nominé pour un Grammy Award pour le meilleur arrangement vocal pour The Manhattan Transfer.
Après de nombreuses années de travail sur les albums d'autres artistes, Waldman décidé de publier son propre travail. En 1998, Waldman a sorti son premier album solo, Wigged Out, avec le bassiste John Pattitucci et le batteur Vinnie Colaiuta .
Randy a collaboré avec Michael Jackson sur le titre "Dirty Diana".
