David Fincher est né le 10 mai 1962 à Denver dans le Colorado, aux États-Unis . Il est un réalisateur et producteur américain.
David Fincher a commencé sa carrière en travaillant sur des effets spéciaux pour la société Industrial Light & Magic. Après un passage par la publicité et les vidéo-clips, il a commencé à réaliser des films pour le cinéma. Il possède sa propre maison de production : Propaganda Films.
De 1990 à 1995, il a été marié avec Donya Fiorentino (remariée à Gary Oldman puis divorcée à nouveau), avec qui il a une fille, Phelix Imogen en 1994.
